The American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) is now accepting entries for the Awards for Composites Excellence (ACE), sponsored by Composites One. The deadline for submission is May 15. Click here to submit your entry today.

ACE is a prestigious composites industry competition that recognizes outstanding achievement and innovation in technology, manufacturing and product development. On September 12 at 2 p.m., during the fourth annual CAMX – The Composites and Advanced Materials Expo in Orlando, the ACE Pavilion (located in the left hand corner of the Exhibit Hall) will showcase the finalists and winning entries.

"Participating in ACE is a great opportunity to show thousands of composites professionals from all over the world the kind of innovation your business can achieve," said Heather Rhoderick, Senior Vice President of Events and Information at ACMA. "The products, equipment and processes that receive this distinguished recognition represent the limitless potential of our industry."

In the design category, ACMA encourages product manufacturers, designers, engineers, end-users and academia to submit entries for the Innovation in Green Composites Design Award and Most Creative Application Award. The Innovation in Green Composites Design Award honors a composites product that best exemplifies innovation that lowers/minimizes the environmental footprint or offers an attractive life cycle assessment (LCA) of the product. The Most Creative Application Award honors a product that showcases composites use in a unique, new application or use composites' attributes in imaginative, innovative, or artistic ways.

In the manufacturing category, suppliers, tooling manufacturers, software developers and product manufacturers are encouraged to submit entries for the Equipment and Tooling Innovation Award and the Materials and Process Innovation Award. The Equipment and Tooling Innovation Award rewards equipment, tooling, production aid or software that is designed to improve manufacturing production, environmental sustainability or product quality and performance in composites manufacturing. The Materials and Process Innovation Award recognizes a material or process that contributes to efficient manufacturing and product sustainability.

Finally, in the market development category, product manufacturers, end users and academia are encouraged to submit entries for the Composites Sustainability Award and Infinite Possibility Award. The Composites Sustainability Award recognizes a composites product that clearly demonstrates an improvement in the environmental impact of the products use. The Infinite Possibility Award is given to a composites product that demonstrates the potential to significantly increase the use of composites in existing markets or to generate the greatest impact to open new and emerging markets for composites.
