ThermalSafe panels from Metl-Span are now available with a Non Exposed Fastening (NEF) solution to offer architects, designers and building owners a much-desired flush appearance.

ThermalSafe NEF mineral wool panel is the latest development in fire resistant wall construction technology with the aesthetic appeal of a smooth surface. ThermalSafe NEF offers a level of flexibility that architects, contractors and building owners won’t find in conventional fire resistant materials like cement block and gypsum board. The one-step, one-crew installation of the LockGuard interlocking side joint feature enhances the fire resistant characteristics of the panels.

“The ThermalSafe NEF was an obvious progression to bring an aesthetic element to an otherwise purely function-based panel,” says Rahim Hakimi, Vice President of Engineering. “Now, form meets function to provide a gorgeous fire resistant wall panel.”

ThermalSafe panels are attached to the intermediate support members using concealed clips and fasteners. The end panels will still need to be attached with through-fasteners required for fire ratings, but that exposed fastener head can be covered with trim.
