Commercial Roofing Boot Camp Starts March 7

roofing boot camp
February 16, 2016

TEGNOS Research and BNP Media, publisher of Roofing Contractor and Architectural Roofing & Waterproofing/WC Architect, are pleased to announce the spring 2016 edition of Commercial Roofing Boot Camp, a unique online educational program for career-minded roofing professionals. Now in its third year of serving the roofing industry, Commercial Roofing Boot Camp provides an in-depth look at modern commercial roofing systems as well as opportunities for personal advancement within the roofing industry.

According to Jill Bloom, group publisher for RC and ARW/WCA, Commercial Roofing Boot Camp fills an important gap in roofing education:

“The U.S. roofing industry generates over $22 billion in annual revenues and offers numerous career opportunities. But making the most of these opportunities requires specialized knowledge not available through traditional education programs. As a result, it is difficult to pull together an adequate understanding of the key principles and practices of modern roofing. And that’s where Commercial Roofing Boot Camp can help.”

Starting in March, Dr. Jim Hoff, a long-time industry executive and researcher with over 30 years of experience in roofing technology and business management, is teaching this 10-week online course for roofing and construction professionals.

The Commercial Roofing Boot Camp will explore the key principles of modern roofing and the best tools to put these principles into action. You will practice by using every major type of roofing material available today—including the latest in membranes, insulations and accessories—and finish the course with a specifically tailored capstone project that focuses on your expertise or interest.

This is a detail-oriented design course that combines video lessons, reading assignments, and hands-on calculations and homework. The course is self-paced. “There’s so much detailed, technical information and skill required in commercial roofing today,” said Dr. Hoff. “It’s exciting for me to put it all together in this one course.”

The course runs from March 7 – May 15, 2016, and has been approved for 20 RCI CEHs and 20 AIA Learning Units. Since Dr. Hoff will be working with participants, answering questions, and providing guidance and feedback, we’re capping enrollment at 50.

We hope you take advantage of this rare opportunity to take a comprehensive commercial roofing course with Dr. Hoff. For more information about the course or to register, visit https://www.heatspring.com/courses/commercial-roofing-boot-camp.
