The acquired entities—Metro Roof Products, Enviroshake, and Steel Rock Roof Products—are all high-end, specialty-niche roofing companies.  Each will continue to go to market in the same way they have in the past, which has helped propel the companies to prominence in the roofing industry.

Oceanside, Calif.-based Metro Roof Products is a manufacturer of stone-coated metal roofing providing the look of authentic shingle and shake roofing. Metro emphasizes the significance of its proprietary approach to the steel, basecoat and granite chips in its metal roofing, which is the result of rigorous research and development. This unique process makes its products superior in aesthetics and durability. It offers 5 architectural profiles: MetroSHAKE, MetroSHINGLE, MetroTILE, MetroROMAN and MetroCOTTAGE Shingle. In addition, the Company has introduced several “firsts” to the stone-coated metal roof industry which include a “concealed fastener” direct to deck shingle, a “rake channel with integrated locator-lip” for weather protection, and an innovative “nail-on” batten-less, direct to deck stone-coated shake panel.

A leader in the composite roofing industry for almost two decades, EnviroShake Quality Engineered Roofing is a Canadian company based in Chatham, Ontario. The company manufactures three popular profiles: EnviroShake, EnviroShingle and EnviroSlate, all comprised of 95 percent recycled materials.  These high performance roofing systems deliver the elegant, genuine look of shake and slate. The company’s roofing products are backed by lifetime warranties transferable for 50 years on residential structures and by 50-year warranties on commercial projects.

Based in Placentia, Calif., Steel Rock Roof Products, as its name suggests, is a maker of stone-coated Galvalume steel roofing. The company stresses the strength and durability of its entire product line.  That line is comprised of Pacific Villa-Tile, resembling traditional barrel-style tiles; Pacific Shake HD, a versatile, wood-grained shake panel; and Pacific Tile, featuring a traditional low-profile tile design. Strong, durable performance is ensured because all Steel Rock panels deliver Class A Fire Resistance, Class 4 hail impact resistance and high-wind performance. The company also now offers its roof products in highly-reflective, Energy Star-rated colors.

“These acquisitions are in keeping with our strategy to better serve our customers by broadening our offering of high-quality products, extending our geographic reach and expanding our presence in key distribution channels,” says Rick Davis, Headwaters Roofing Group vice president of marketing and product development. “Our long-term goal is to build Headwaters Roofing Group as the source for niche roofing in a range of quality products.”

As part of the acquisition, Headwaters Roofing Group will provide a wide array of services to the acquired companies to help each better serve customers. The services will include marketing, new product research and behind-the-scenes expertise. For more information, contact the acquired companies.
