Ceiling panel and tile manufacturer Ceilume—in partnership with noted architecture/design blog Portland Architecture—announced the first of a series of public conversations with prominent designers.

Called PDX Designer Spotlight, the series will hold its inaugural event on March 19 at Ceilume’s central eastside Portland showroom with noted designer, Andee Hess, of Osmose Design. Portland Architecture’s founder, architecture and design writer, Brian Libby, will interview Hess about her experiences as a designer and take questions from the audience.

Ceilume will open its doors at 5:00 p.m. and Hess and Libby’s talk will start at 6:00 p.m. with networking before and after. Beer, wine and other refreshments will be provided. Ceilume’s Portland showroom is located at 1225 southeast Grand Avenue, Portland.

Seating is limited. Attendees are encouraged to arrive no later than 5:45 p.m.

Hess’s award-winning firm, Osmose Design, focuses on environments for both commercial and residential settings. High-profile local clients include Salt & Straw, Ava Gene’s, and Stumptown Coffee Roasters, among many others.

Libby has written for numerous newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, The Oregonian, Premiere, Metropolitan Home, Salon, The Christian Science Monitor, Dwell, Metropolis, and Architectural Record, primarily focusing on architecture and design. He is also the founder and editor of Portland Architecture (http://portlandarchitecture.com), the city’s leading blog devoted to local design and architecture.
