The renovation of Mitchell Elementary in Dallas resulted in 42 classrooms, a gymnasium, cafeteria, kitchen and library. The elementary school is a part of the Plano Independent School District and serves nearly 700 students. The redevelopment program recently completed included the expanded 34,376 square feet with upgrades to the existing 61,256 square feet, resulting in 95,505 square feet total.

Plano-based general contractor Cadence McShane worked with Houston-based MBCI to provide the metal roofing panels for both the existing building and additions. MBCI supplied two of their standing seam roof panels, BattenLok HS and LokSeam, both in charcoal gray. While each panel offers a unique profile, the aesthetics of using them together create an appealing continuation throughout the entire structure.

SHW Group of Plano designed the project and BRI Roofing and Sheet Metal of Haslet, Texas, worked as the roofing contractor. Construction began in May 2012 and completed in August 2013.
