2014 Polyurethanes Technical Conference Registration Now Open

June 22, 2014

WASHINGTON — Registration is now open for the 2014 Polyurethanes Technical Conference hosted by the Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) of the American Chemistry Council (ACC). The conference will take place Sept. 22-24 at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Dallas. Click here to register today.

“We are excited to welcome polyurethane professionals from around the world to the premier North American industry event,” said Lee Salamone, senior director of CPI. “Our conference is unique because all sectors of the polyurethanes industry and its downstream users intersect here. Our networking opportunities give participants a chance to share what they know, and our technical sessions showcase the latest news and developments in the field.”

Click here for a preview of what the 2014 conference has in store.

Early Registration Discount Available Until Aug. 29

Conference attendees can save $200 with early registration, which is available through Friday, Aug. 29. To register for the conference, visit the CPI website.

This year’s event will take place at the Gaylord Texan. To receive CPI’s special room rate, reserve your room using this dedicated link or call 877-491-5138 and mention the Polyurethanes Technical Conference. The group rate is available until Aug. 29, but space is limited and may sell out. Reservation requests received after this date will be accepted on a space and rate availability basis only.

Technical Sessions for All Interests

Conference attendees can take advantage of 14 technical sessions featuring more than 60 presentations by industry professionals and government officials. Technical sessions will cover a wide range of topics,  including blowing agents; chemistry and renewables; coating and adhesives; construction; elastomers; environment, health and safety issues; flame retardants and combustibility; flexible foam; processing and composites; regulatory issues; sprayed polyurethanes; and the supply chain.

Professional Development Opportunities

For the second year, CPI will offer a pre-conference workshop titled “Introduction to Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Issues Relative to Diisocyanates.” This special interest workshop covers fundamental concepts related to EHS regulations, industrial hygiene, toxicology, medical surveillance and exposure control. It is offered at no additional cost to registered conference attendees and will be held on Sunday, Sept. 21 from 1-5 p.m. Participants will walk away with a greater knowledge of the increasingly important and evolving regulations related to diisocyanate EHS.

Also back by popular demand, top industry experts will once again deliver educational courses as part of CPI’s Polyurethane Professional Development Program (PDP). Courses will include introduction to polyurethane chemistry; introduction to polyurethane technology; markets and applications; adhesives and sealants; coatings and elastomers; processing equipment; raw materials, testing, specifications and performance; and physical testing. For a $200 fee, participants may attend as many courses as they desire.

Connect with Industry Leaders

The conference also offers extensive networking opportunities, including the Industry Reception on the evening of Sept. 23, as well as the Table Top Exhibition for companies to showcase their products and connect with prospective customers.

During the conference’s Closing Session on Sept. 24, CPI will present its annual Polyurethane Innovation Award. The award is determined by votes cast by attendees during the Opening Session on Sept. 22. Nominations for this year’s award will be accepted until 5 p.m. EDT on June 18. Click here for the Polyurethane Innovation Award rules and entry form.

Sponsorships Still Available

Companies interested in sponsoring the conference have several options to achieve high visibility among polyurethane industry leaders and innovators. Some new sponsorship opportunities available this year include video screens throughout the conference hotel, a large screen on the clock tower in the center of the hotel atrium and the PDP. A variety of other sponsorship opportunities are also still available, such as conference Wi-Fi, a cell phone charging station, lanyards and technical sessions. Table Top Exhibits are also available for purchase. Click here for more information about sponsorships and Table Top Exhibits.
