LOS ANGELES — Mark R. Griffith, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, has joined HLW International LLP as principal and director of the Los Angeles office.

In this role, Griffith will lead the business development, operations and oversee the expansion of HLW's presence in California. He brings more than 25 years of professional experience in the architecture and design profession. In recent years, Mark was responsible for the growth, business development and strategy of five principle markets: commercial, healthcare, education, federal and aviation. 

Griffith, a Los Angeles native, has worked throughout the United States and internationally through all phases of architectural design, including initial concept and design development and preparation of construction documents and construction support. He began his career in Southern California. He has held various leadership positions at Parsons, Perkins + Will and Leo A Daly.

With expertise in architectural design, planning and development, Griffith has been involved with a variety of buildings, such as health care, high-tech facilities and higher-education projects. He specializes in commercial and hospitality/entertainment buildings. His hospitality and entertainment projects include the Hotel Bel Air; Jonathan Beach Club; Disney's Tower of Terror in Orlando, Fla.; Sony's Metreon in San Francisco; Sony's Mediagein Tokyo; and the Vdara Resort Hotel and Spa at City Center Las Vegas, a 57-story, 1,495-key boutique resort complex.

Griffith received a Bachelor of Science in architecture from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and an MBA from California State University, Fullerton. Mark is a member of the AIA, Urban Land Institute, Design Build Institute of America, Boutique & Lifestyle Lodging Associationand the Themed Entertainment Association. He is a LEED Accredited Professional.
