DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. – Polyglass U.S.A., Inc. has once again been recognized for its commitment to producing the highest quality roofing and related products and systems. Polyglass’ Polybrite 70 elastomeric coating, was recently tested by Factory Mutual and achieved FM 4470 approval for Single-Ply, Polymer-Modified Bitumen Sheet, Built-Up Roof (BUR) and Liquid Applied Roof Assemblies for use in Class 1 and noncombustible roof deck construction.

The approval process involves a rigorous testing method intended to evaluate a roof cover construction for its performance as it relates to fire (from above and below the structural deck), simulated wind uplift, susceptibility from hail storm damage and water migration.

“The testing required to achieve FM 4470 approval is comprehensive to say the least,” stated Howard Meechan, Hawaii Sales Representative for Polyglass. “This approval gives the building owner confidence that the Polybrite 70 roof coating system will perform reliably – even in very tough conditions.”

In addition to FM Class 1 approvals, Polybrite 70, as well as other Polyglass elastomeric roof coatings are listed by CRRC (Cool Roof Rating Council) and meet Energy Star® requirements for solar reflectance. Polybrite 70 is also UL® classified and Miami-Dade County approved.
