ROSEMONT, Ill. — The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) has released two safety publications—NRCA Pocket Guide to Safety and The NRCA Safety Manual, Third Edition.

NRCA Pocket Guide to Safety is a 100-page, pocket-sized, spiral-bound guide intended for use by laborers, mechanics, foremen and others on job sites. The guide addresses fall protection, first aid and emergency treatment, weather, personal protective equipment, and Occupational Health and Safety Association standards. A Spanish-language version also is available.

The NRCA Safety Manual, Third Edition updates The NRCA Safety Manual, Second Edition. The manual updates and expands explanations of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Transportation regulations and provides information regarding industry practices developed and compiled to improve worker safety on roofing job sites. The manual also discusses recent OSHA changes involving crane operations, rigging equipment and fall protection and provides updated information regarding asbestos, fire safety, hazardous materials and hazardous wastes, silica, MDI, lead and noise exposures.
