2012 IRE Announces Kyle Petty as Keynote Speaker

February 6, 2012

DALLAS –– NASCAR’s Kyle Petty will present the Keynote Address during the 2012 International Roofing Expo (IRE), Feb. 22-24, in South Hall A at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. Petty is replacing Rusty Wallace who had to cancel due to an overriding professional obligation superseding his contract.

Taking place Wednesday, Feb. 22, from 9:45 a.m. to 10:50 a.m., Petty will present, “What a Ride: Life, Family, Community and the Race Track,” in room S320A in South Hall A at the Orange County Convention Center.

During this moving presentation, Petty takes audiences on an anecdotal journey through his life as a businessman, philanthropist and as one of NASCAR’s most respected drivers. He explores consistently striving for excellence, living up to your promises, teamwork, helping the community and commitment to family.

The Keynote is sponsored by Orlando-based Fortuna Logistics/MaxCon, who will be exhibiting in booth 563.

“With NASCAR taking place the same week as our show, we really wanted another speaker from the NASCAR world,” said Lindsay Roberts, director of the International Roofing Expo. “As a member of NASCAR’s most famous family, Kyle Petty is the perfect replacement.”

The Petty surname is one of the most recognizable in American motorsports. The son of seven-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Richard Petty, Kyle forged his own identity early in his career by winning the first major race he entered: the 1979 ARCA 200 at Daytona Beach, at age 18.

When Kyle isn’t behind the wheel of a racecar or serving humanitarian or philanthropic causes, he is a NASCAR analyst on TNT, a host on the Speed Channel, and a co-host of Fast Talk, a weekly radio show on the Performance Racing Network.

“Attendees and exhibitors will benefit from Petty’s motivational address,” said Bill Good, executive vice president of NRCA, the show’s official sponsor. “His down-to-earth style makes him one of the most popular personalities in all of sports. I encourage our members to attend.”

The Keynote is included free of charge in all registration packages, but advance registration is required. Registration can be made at www.TheRoofingExpo.com/attendee, where information is accessible 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
