Intensive UL-Testing Phase Now UL-Listed

June 28, 2011
MAGE SOLAR USA, part of the globally operating MAGE GROUP, announced that the extensive testing and audit phase of its U.S.-produced modules has been completed.

DUBLIN, Ga. - MAGE SOLAR USA, part of the globally operating MAGE GROUP, announced that the extensive testing and audit phase of its U.S.-produced modules has been completed. The successful UL-certification marked the start of the full-scale production at MAGE SOLAR’s North American industrial campus and headquarters in Georgia.

The signature high-efficiency MAGE POWERTEC PLUS modules are already one of the industry’s leading brands, convincing through their German-engineered design and power guarantees of up to 30 years. Now the complete system provider is also offering a U.S.-built version of its highly-rated mono- and polycrystalline modules with power ratings of 190 watts and 230 watts. The first UL-listed modules are already being prepared for shipment, accommodating customers that had preordered the sought-after modules long before production began.

The U.S.-modules are compliant with the requirements of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). This makes the MAGE POWERTEC PLUS-US modules especially attractive as they qualify for government-funded PV-projects. Public sector invitation bids usually require ARRA-compliancy under the Buy-American Provision.

“To see (the) modules rolling off the production line here at our headquarters is truly a phenomenal sight,” said Joe Thomas, President of MAGE SOLAR USA. “The next phase of production line expansion is on the drawing board and eventually total capacity shall reach up to 800 mw. The 350 workers we will provide with clean energy jobs over the next few years are the best example of the 26 percent-job growth the U.S. PV-industry is expected to experience in 2011 alone - renewable energies are one of the most powerful engines for economic growth.”

In another effort to help create a qualified work force for the booming PV-industry, MAGE SOLAR ACADEMY opened its doors last January. The training facility is also located at the corporate campus in Dublin and is offering PV-Entry Level Courses, NABCEP Exam-Prep Classes, and a wide range of PV-seminars and workshops to professionals across the nation.
