Firestone Building Products Announce Promotions to Focus on Building Envelope

November 24, 2010
Firestone Building Products Company, LLC announced a number of promotions to support growth within Firestone’s roofing systems and building envelope solutions.

Firestone Building Products Company, LLC announced a number of promotions to support growth within Firestone’s roofing systems and building envelope solutions. The new teams, effective January 1, 2011, have been identified as follows:

FSBP Research and Development will support the development of a wide array of durable, sustainable and recyclable products and processes, working to have a positive impact on the environment. Jeff Henegar, formerly general manager of Firestone Energy Solutions, will now serve as director, research and development.

Firestone Energy Solutions was launched in October 2009, providing products, systems and services that assist in conservation and the production of energy for the commercial building envelope. Energy Solutions will continue to identify opportunities to expand “green” offerings within the domestic roofing market for solar panels and daylighting. Gary Thompson, formerly general manager of GenFlex Roofing Solutions, will now serve as general manager, Firestone Energy Solutions.

With over 30 years in the single-ply industry, GenFlex Roofing Solutions is a leading, full-line supplier of high quality single-ply roofing products for the commercial roofing market. With new efforts focused on reaching the residential market, GenTite RRS will offer a complete line of commercial grade products for the LBM channel. Eric Ziemba, formerly regional business manager for the North Central region of the United States, will now serve as general manager, GenFlex Roofing Solutions.

Building Envelope Solutions was created to develop a dedicated team who will provide a committed, singular voice to the architect, specifier and building owner market segments to support growth of the building envelope. The building envelope reaches beyond rooftops on commercial buildings and encompasses wall panels and insulation, skyscapes, daylighting and other watertight features in and around the property. John Bernardi, formerly vice president of strategic planning, has accepted the position of vice president, business development, overseeing the new Building Envelope Solutions department.

The Building Envelope Solutions group will work closely with the company’s core domestic roofing sales team, headed by industry veteran Bob Delaney, vice president, roofing system sales. And as chief operating officer, Mike Vall will ensure the company’s high-quality product manufacturing and efficient logistics operations are consistently maintained and strive for continuous improvement.

“We have assembled a strong team to meet the growth and evolution of the building envelope,” said Ken Weaver, president of Firestone Building Products, and chairman, CEO and president, Firestone Diversified Products. “These staffing changes within the Firestone Diversified Products family give us a number of opportunities to provide even greater levels of service and continued delivery of premium products to our customers.”
