The American Iron and Steel Institute announced that Harry W. (Hank) Martin has been recognized with the Excellence Award of the National Institute of Building Sciences Building Seismic Safety Council.
The American Iron and Steel Institute has published three new cold-formed steel research reports. All three research reports are available for free download at https://www.cfsei.org/research-reports.
The paper, “Material Properties that Affect Steel Cladding Performance”, details important material parameters that affect the performance and qualities of steel cladding and the ability to fabricate the steel, paying particular attention to the often-misunderstood concept of gauge.
The test standards were developed by AISI’s Committee on Specifications for the Design of Cold-Formed Steel Structural Members and are available for free download at www.aisistandards.org.
The Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute will host a webinar on “Frequently Misunderstood Wind Load Topics for Cold-Formed Steel Structures” on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST.
The founding, association and corporate sponsors of the Wei-Wen Yu Center for Cold-Formed Steel Structures announced that the CCFSS is closing its doors after 30 years.
The Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute is accepting entries through February 19, 2021 for its annual awards program, which acknowledges outstanding achievement in creative design, technical innovation, and best practices in the use of cold-formed steel and recognizes individuals who have volunteered significant time and talent to the cold-formed steel industry.
The Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute will host a webinar on “Post-Installed Anchor Testing, Qualification and Design Procedure” on Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST.
