Representatives from the Architectural Glass and Metal Technician (AGMT) and North American Contractor Certification (NACC) programs attended GlassBuild America 2025 in Orlando, Florida, November 4-6, 2025, immediately followed November 6-7 by the annual meeting of the Architectural Glass and Metal Certification Council (AGMCC), which sponsors both programs. The back-to-back events enabled strides in introducing and granting certifications.

AGMT conducted written and hands-on testing for eligible glaziers during GlassBuild. Nine individuals passed both tests and earned the credential during the show. Over 250 people toured the testing environment to witness the five sections of the hands-on test. As a result of these tours, AGMT confirmed three public testing events to occur in early 2026 in West Columbia, S.C.; Carrollton, Ky.; and Los Angeles, Calif. Details for these events will be posted on GlazingCertification.com before year’s end.

AGMT also hosted a skills demonstration area where GlassBuild attendees could try their hand at applying sealant and attempt to spot problems between properly and improperly installed sections of curtain wall. Over 300 individuals participated over three days. “It was a great opportunity to check out the testing rigs and gain an appreciation for the skill and attention to detail required to be an AGMT certified glazier,” said John Dzierzynski, Jr., who led the demo area.

NACC manned an exhibit booth that attracted over 130 meaningful conversations, including six contractors who initiated the certification process during GlassBuild.

“More people are getting involved with AGMT and NACC and lending their support across the industry,” said Program Director Scott Kennett. “The first part of 2026 will be very exciting as we introduce new testing venues and tools for certification. And we plan to attend GlassBuild 2026 in Las Vegas next September.”

The AGMCC Annual Meeting spanned two days and included a participants’ meeting, marketing meeting, AGMT committee meeting, and NACC committee meeting open to all parties interested in certifications, along with a closed-door board meeting. 52 individuals attended in person or virtually. Major program milestones announced during the meeting included:

NACC:

• 94 companies have earned NACC; the program anticipates reaching the 100-company milestone by year’s end.
• NACC has experienced 14.6 percent net growth in 2025.
• 26 additional applicants are currently in process to earn NACC.
• 23 states have NACC certified contractors who perform work in 38 states.
• NACC contractors are safer, demonstrating an average 0.821 insurance Experience Modification Rate (EMR is the numerical rating used by insurance companies to measure an organization’s safety record). The industry average is 1.0.

AGMT:

• 2,173 individuals hold AGMT certification.
• AGMT has experienced 10.6 percent net growth in 2025.
• 40 states have AGMT-certified glazing installers.

AGMCC elected five new members to its board of directors: Lockheed Architectural Solutions Senior Project Executive Eric Gregoire and Country Glass Chief Operating Officer Brian Risinger will represent glazing contractors; International Union of Painters and Allied Trades Glazier Training Representative Matt Fox, AGMT, will hold the International Finishing Trades Institute seat and was elected to serve as board president; Curtainwall Design Consulting Senior Associate Consultant and Field Services Manager Nicolás Esquivel Guzmán will hold a general interest seat; Frameless Hardware Company Chief Marketing Officer Andrew Haring will hold a supplier seat. Kawneer Director of Global Product Management Chris Giovannielli was reelected to a second term representing the supplier perspective. Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. Senior Associate Dana Landis, PE, CBECxP, was elected to serve as board vice president. AGMCC thanks outgoing president Rodney Harvey, outgoing vice president Jim R. Maggiore, and outgoing members Anton P. Ruesing V and Yvon Chiasson, ing., P.Eng., for their service.

“Matt Fox was part of the original AGMT program steering committee. His commitment to seeing both programs succeed and grow has been great,” said Kennett. “Dana Landis has contributed for several years as an NACC committee member before joining the board in 2022. She continues to be a vocal advocate of both programs. Their leadership will ensure continued positive impacts on the AGMCC board and certifications.”

To have a program like this that’s been promoting competency is something the industry needs in a dire way.
