Ankrom Moisan Promotes Brad Bane to Affordable Housing Studio Leader
Bane to Lead Studio’s Efforts in Advancing High-Quality, Sustainable, Community-Focused Housing

Ankrom Moisan, a leading architecture, interior design, brand, and planning firm, announced the promotion of Brad Bane to Affordable Housing Studio Leader. In this role, Bane will co-lead the studio alongside Katie Lyslo, driving Ankrom Moisan’s mission to deliver high-quality, sustainable, community-focused housing solutions.
As Studio Leader, Bane will focus on turning complex housing challenges into innovative, buildable solutions that meet practical needs while upholding high design standards. He will mentor the team, foster collaboration, and guide clients through the intricacies of funding and regulatory requirements in affordable housing. He will also cultivate new partnerships, elevate the firm’s visibility, and showcase how thoughtful design can be both beautiful and attainable.
“Brad’s leadership brings a clear vision and thoughtful approach to the studio,” said Katie Lyslo. “His strengths in navigating the complexities of affordable housing, from understanding funding structures and coordinating multiple stakeholders to maintaining design quality, make him an invaluable partner. I’m excited to collaborate with Brad as we continue to push the boundaries of what thoughtful, community-focused housing can achieve.”
With 30 years of architectural experience, Bane brings a wealth of design insight and technical expertise, leading projects that span urban and rural environments, from ground-up developments to complex renovations. He has led a variety of residential and mixed-use projects from concept to construction, collaborating closely with developers, housing authorities, and community partners to create equitable and sustainable housing solutions that balance design quality with affordability.
His recent work includes Pacifica in Seaside, Oregon—a collaboration with Related Northwest that reflects Ankrom Moisan’s focus on thoughtful design, resident well-being, and efficiency. The team developed a site plan that strengthens neighborhood connections while supporting density, livability, and long-term sustainability. The Affordable Housing Studio is also advancing several new projects across the region, including Yesler Terrace (Sawara), CopperLeaf Northgate, Hillside Park Phase I, and Stratus Village.
“Taking on this new role is an exciting opportunity to shape how our firm approaches housing as both a social responsibility and a design challenge,” said Bane. “I’m thrilled to be working alongside Katie, who brings deep expertise across housing types and a strong focus on design value and client impact. Together, we’ll guide the studio’s vision, balancing design excellence with the practical realities of affordability.”
