Moody Nolan Announces Rebrand

2.jpg
October 3, 2023

Moody Nolan announced its new visual identity, marking the beginning of the architecture and design firm’s next chapter. The rebrand, including a new logo and website, serves as a symbolic representation of the firm, allowing Moody Nolan to thoughtfully communicate its mission externally, aligning its values with strategic targets and an enlightened path forward.

“This rebrand sets in motion the next era of design excellence for Moody Nolan,” says Jonathan Moody, CEO and president of Moody Nolan. “The first forty years were guided by the leadership and vision of my father, Curt Moody. Over the next forty years, we’ll continue to pursue that same path of excellence, endeavoring to improve every life we touch through design.”

The new logo nods to Moody Nolan’s foundation by mirroring a hand-drawn sketch – the place where all designs begin. This element represents the remarkable reality of an architect’s work in which a napkin sketch is realized in the skyline of a community. The font selection, Kigelia, is inspired by the unification of the more than 2,000 writing systems in Africa, illustrating what lies at the core of the practice – preserving and promoting humanity through design.

A redesigned website aims to reintroduce the brand while offering a more user-friendly, engaging, and intuitive experience, effectively presenting the firm’s breadth of work and decades of collaboration with clients and partners across the globe. A proudly diverse firm, the site equally features the people who define Moody Nolan, including their unique perspectives and work.

Defined by the continuous pursuit of responsive design, the past three years have been transformative for Moody Nolan under Jonathan Moody’s leadership as CEO, succeeding his father in 2020 who founded the firm in 1982. Since his succession, Moody Nolan has received the 2021 American Institute of Architects (AIA) Firm of the Year Award, the highest honor the AIA bestows on an architecture practice, and in 2022, the firm celebrated its 40th anniversary and was named one of the most innovative architecture firms by Fast Company.
