Georgia-Pacific Debuts New Coverboard Durability Video

GP.JPG
June 28, 2022

Saving time, maintaining product performance, and ensuring all specified products work together: key priorities for architects, and the driving force behind product development for Georgia-Pacific. The results of this innovation can be seen in the two newest products from Georgia-Pacific, showcased at AIA for the first time: DensDeck® StormX™ Prime Roof Board, and DensDefy™ Liquid Barrier, part of DensElement® Barrier System. As a bonus, the latest addition to the “Four Dimensions of Durability in Roofing” video series will debut at AIA22 and educate attendees about roof protection against wind uplift.

DensDeck® StormX™ Prime Roof Board is the first high-performance gypsum roof cover board designed to help prepare commercial rooftops to hold tough under the dangers of impact and puncture caused by very severe hail conditions. The product is classified for use in approved assemblies meeting FM Global’s Very Severe Hail Standard set in 2018. Full information may be found on the Georgia-Pacific website.

DensDefy™ Liquid Barrier, part of DensElement® Barrier System, is a fluid-applied, air- and water-resistive barrier. Once applied, it produces a seamless, durable membrane on exterior gypsum sheathing, wood sheathing, CMU, and concrete walls. Complete information is available here.

“Four Dimensions of Durability in Roofing” will be a four-part video series demonstrating the value and key benefits of choosing a gypsum roof board to help protect against fire, wind, puncture, and hail. The video on wind uplift joins a video on fire risk mitigation as the first two in the series. All videos may be viewed here.

Georgia-Pacific Legacy & Tech Support

General contractors and architects trust the Georgia-Pacific name and history of product development, leadership, and innovation. Georgia-Pacific is the go-to manufacturer for exterior sheathing and offers technical support to include jobsite observation reports (upon request) and application best practices and troubleshooting. All information from one source makes any issues easily solvable.
