NELSON Worldwide, award-winning architecture, design, and strategy firm, is pleased to announce Samer Hamde as Southeast Regional Leader and National Healthcare Practice Leader. Based in Atlanta, Samer brings more than 20 years of experience in architecture, with expertise in healthcare building practices.

“Samer has a profound grasp of the Southeast market and its competitive field, which will create more opportunities for our firm,” said Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NELSON Worldwide, John “Ozzie” Nelson Jr. “We are excited to have Samer join the NELSON team to help strengthen and grow the brand within the region.”

In his new role as Southwest Regional Leader, Samer will oversee six offices, three in Florida, two in Atlanta, and one in Charlotte, to combine each location to operate under the same model to expand NELSON’s reach in the Southeast. The team has recently completed, or is currently working on, several key projects in the region including the Anthem Technology Center in Atlanta, GA; Fishermen’s Community Hospital in Marathon, FL; Emory Healthcare’s Northlake Mall project in Atlanta, GA; Baptist Health South Florida Miami Cancer Institute in Miami, FL; and Baptist Health Medical Office Building, Ambulatory Surgery Center and Parking Garage in West Palm Beach, FL.

In addition to his role as Southwest Regional Leader, Samer will also take on the role of National Healthcare Practice Leader. Samer’s extensive background and market understanding, from design to business structure, will allow him to cultivate his team while expanding the firm’s expertise. Samer has a diverse background in design, construction, and project management. Previously, he served as Senior Director, Vice President, and the Southeast Healthcare Market Lead for JLL’s Project and Development Services group. At JLL, he provided executive oversight for healthcare systems’ inpatient and outpatient projects, healthcare development projects, and hospital project initiatives.

In addition to designing exceptional projects, the Southeast region will focus on team building and creating an environment that fosters talent and long-term client partnerships. Samer will strategically guide the region focusing on growth while cultivating a positive company culture.
