In celebration of its 50th anniversary and in recognition of the impact industry has on our environment, Coatings For Industry, Inc. (CFI) has made a gift to the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. The gift, made in honor of CFI’s valued customers and employees, will assist in the annual planting of over 1,000 trees throughout the greater Philadelphia area.

“In considering how best to honor our half-century of loyal customers and dedicated employees, I wanted to find a way that really gives back to our world,” said Kevin Klotz, president of CFI. “Making this donation will help make a difference in our environment and our communities. We are a chemical formulation company, but we also live in this community with our families. We want help make a healthier world in which our children will live and work.”

CFI was founded in 1970 by a team of coatings professionals, including Klotz’s father, Jim Klotz. Based in Souderton, Pa., CFI offers paint and coating solutions for a wide array of steel and concrete infrastructure, unique specialty applications, and for turbine engine components used for flight and power generation.

The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society was founded in 1827. It dedicates its resources in partnership with community groups and thousands of volunteers to help make the Greater Philadelphia region a more livable, vibrant place in which to live and work. Among its many annual successes, it supports multiple public gardens, and plants between 1,000 and 2,000 trees annually to help keep a green canopy available to all.
