Precis Engineering Promotes Capparella to Principal

breaking news1
May 15, 2019

Precis Engineering, Inc., an MEP engineering firm headquartered in Ambler, Pa., with an additional office in Cary, N.C., has promoted Director of Project Management Josh Capparella, PE, LEED AP BD+C, to Principal. The firm has also made two strategic new hires. Experienced marketer Erika Kucowski joined the firm as Marketing Manager and industry veteran James J. Moule, Jr., has been hired as Talent Acquisition Manager. The announcements come as Precis begins its 14th year in practice.

Josh Capparella, PE, LEED AP BD+C | Principal and Director of Project Management

Capparella joined Precis in 2016 and leads the firm’s project management team, overseeing project execution, quality, and financial performance. A mechanical engineer with over 18 years of professional experience in pharmaceutical and infrastructure projects, he has completed designs and assessments throughout the U.S., Europe, and Asia. With his promotion, Capparella becomes the firm’s fifth principal.

“Josh’s combination of extreme technical expertise coupled with business and project management acumen is truly extraordinary,” said Precis Founding Principal Robert A. Dick, PE. “Having an individual of his capability as an owner in our organization makes us all better.”

“I’m committed to delivering functional and practical solutions that maximize our clients’ businesses,” said Capparella. “I look forward to supporting the firm’s growth through the success of our clients.”

Most recently, Capparella oversaw Precis projects that involved manufacturing facility and laboratory upgrades, as well as master planning, for major pharmaceutical companies in the San Francisco and Philadelphia regions.

A biopharma engineering and energy assessment expert, Capparella co-authored the sustainability chapter in the Encyclopedia of Industrial Biotechnology and wrote about benchmarking for the peer-reviewed journal, Pharmaceutical Engineering. He regularly presents on topics such as energy management and retro-commissioning and most recently spoke at the International Pharmaceutical Expo (INTERPHEX) and the Greater Philadelphia Building and Facility Management Conference. Capparella is a member of ASHRAE, Association of Energy Engineers, and the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) for which he also serves on the ISPE Energy and Environment Committee. Capparella holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University. He resides with his family in Lansdale, Pa.

Erika Kucowski | Marketing Manager

Kucowski joined Precis as the firm’s first full-time marketing staff member in February 2019. She has a decade of experience marketing professional services for architecture and engineering firms. Her responsibilities include marketing communications and proposal management and business development support.

“Erika joining our organization is a game changer for Precis,” said Dick. “Her proven track record and ability to lead, not just manage, our marketing endeavors results in a more consistent customer experience.”

Kucowski is an active presence in Philadelphia’s design and construction community. She serves on the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) Philadelphia board of directors as the organization’s Logistics Director and previously served as its Emerging Leaders Network Director. She also is a member of the Professional Women in Construction Philadelphia Chapter and a participant on the organization’s Joining Committee. Kucowski holds a B.S. in Business Administration/Marketing/Management from the Pennsylvania State University. She lives in Philadelphia, Pa.

James J. Moule, Jr. | Talent Acquisition Manager

Moule joined Precis as Talent Acquisition Manager in January 2019. He previously served as a Staffing Coordinator for PMConnect, Inc., a Precis partner organization that provides in-house staffing resources. In his new role, Moule leverages 30 years of industry experience to provide Precis and its clients with highly specialized technical recruiting and staffing services.

“Jim is an experienced recruiter and the perfect fit as a permanent staffing resource,” said Dick. “He is talented, friendly, and strategic in his process of finding the needle in the haystack. He works diligently to support Precis and our clients while advocating for each prospective employee.”

Moule has partnered with hiring managers and senior management for nearly three decades, providing consultative and advisory search and staffing services. He has established expertise in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, power, petrochemical, scientific, transportation, and environmental markets. Moule resides in Northeast Philadelphia, Pa.
