SAF recently completed the National Fire Protection Association 285 testing and passed for its C-4000 Series, a drained and back-ventilated aluminum composite material rainscreen panel system. SAF’s C-4000 Series system underwent testing in May 2021 and may now be used in NFPA 285-compliant wall assemblies.
The American Iron and Steel Institute has published the findings from research conducted to support the development of a calculation methodology for determining the U-factors and R-values for wall assemblies containing cold-formed steel.
A new study calls attention to a common flaw in materials research for the built environment: materials research and product selection typically focus on single-product performance when assemblies are not made with just one product.
