Gale Associates, Inc. Announces Portland, Maine Office Leadership

Gale Associates, Inc., a consulting engineering firm, announced Arno Skalski, LEED AP, Associate AIA to lead the firm’s Portland Office. With an established presence in Northern England, Gale Associates is a leading consulting engineering firm delivering evaluation, design, renovation, and restoration services for buildings, infrastructures, and sites. Arno is a recognized building enclosure expert with over 30 years of experience in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Operations (AECO) industry. He will lead the day-to-day operations of Gale’s Maine office, responsible for project leadership, client development, and quality assurance. He brings experience across a broad range of market sectors to collaborate with Gale’s multiple New England offices to support growth initiatives across the region.

“Arno’s building enclosure expertise strengthens the technical leadership of our Portland office,” said Steven Marshall, Managing Principal of Gale. “We are excited have him in this role to deliver excellent service to our clients.”

Arno joined Gale in 2023 as an Associate and member of the Building Enclosure Consulting and Commissioning Group to provide project management for key clients located in Maine. He consults in the areas of evaluation and design of building enclosure systems and assemblies, including roofs, walls, windows, curtainwalls, and waterproofing systems on new construction and existing buildings. He also consults in the areas of technical peer reviews, forensics, construction administration, and commissioning services through project closeout. A LEED Accredited Professional, he is a member of the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC) and an Associate Member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He earned his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering Technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Gale’s Maine office continues to expand under Arno’s leadership with Ethan Field, PE, RRC, LEED GA who recently joined the firm to expand the project delivery capabilities in building enclosure consulting and commissioning. Ethan has 22 years of building enclosure consul ng experience in Maine and across the Northeast.

Ethan is a seasoned building enclosure engineer with expertise in roofing and waterproofing systems, including plaza decks and below-grade assemblies. He leads project execution from client engagement to quality control and consults with design and construction teams to deliver constructability-focused peer reviews across a diverse range of project types. A Registered Professional Engineer in Maine and multiple other states, he is an active member of the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC) and serves as Secretary and Technical Task Group Chair for ASTM International’s Subcommitee D08.22 on Waterproofing and Dampproofing Systems. He is a Registered Roof Consultant (RRC) and LEED Accredited Green Associate (GA). He earned his Master of Science in Engineering Management from Northeastern University and his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a structural focus from Bucknell University.
