Global architecture, design, and planning firm HLW has named Jeremiah Hancock, Associate Principal and Studio Director of the firm's Stamford, Connecticut office, as Sector Lead for Media & Entertainment. In this expanded role, Jeremiah will oversee the firm's extensive body of active work within the sector, which includes production space for industry-leading clients such as NBC Sports, PGA Tour, and Spectrum Networks.

“Many of HLW's defining, milestone projects over the years have been within the media production space, and I am thrilled to leverage my experience within this sector,” said Jeremiah. “Architecture's ability to adapt to shifts in the way content is created and consumed at all scales is a challenge I look forward to facing head-on.”

Jeremiah assumes this position with nearly two decades of experience in commercial architecture, much of which has been focused on live, mission-critical media and broadcast facilities. He came to HLW in 2015 as a Project Manager with a strong technical background. Over the course of his tenure with the firm, he has refined and applied that experience across interiors, adaptive reuse, and ground-up, base-building work. Jeremiah's relentless pursuit of technical excellence and passion for collaborative discourse was instrumental in the establishment of HLW's Connecticut office in 2019 and ultimately earned him the elevation to its Studio Director in 2021.

At HLW, Jeremiah has led projects for CBS News, Sony Entertainment, Charter Communications, WWE, and Encompass Digital Media. His contemplative and collaborative nature allows him to excel on projects with vast and varied stakeholders. As Sector Lead, Jeremiah will continue to serve as a driving force behind the successful delivery of fine-tuned broadcast production facilities that meet the exacting redundancy, testing, futureproofing, and scaling requirements of this complex typology. His role will be inclusive of all aspects of design under the broadcast media umbrella, including sound stages, studios, control rooms, audio, editing, and graphics suites, as well as mission-critical and office support spaces.

“Jeremiah has set himself apart as an inspired leader within our Media & Entertainment sector,” said Ed Shim, Principal and Managing Director of HLW's New York office. “His positioning in this new capacity celebrates his discerning, studied approach to the considerations, challenges, solutions, and innovations of the entertainment business at even greater scale. We look forward to seeing him flourish.”
