R. Christopher Mathis, president of Mathis Consulting Company in Asheville, N.C., will serve a three-year term on the ASTM International board of directors.

 

Mathis Consulting Company provides a variety of professional services related to building energy efficiency and sustainability, from the performance of buildings to the codes and policies governing them.

 

A member of ASTM International since 1986, Mathis is a member of the committees on sustainability (E60), thermal insulation (C16), and performance of buildings (E06). He holds a master’s degree in architecture studies from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of North Carolina-Asheville.

 

In addition to ASTM International, Mathis is a member of ASHRAE, and co-founder and past director of the National Fenestration Rating Council. He has also served four terms on the International Code Council energy code development committee.
