Building on a strong tradition of high-quality building products that maximize the energy efficiency of homes and buildings, CertainTeed has launched Landmark Solaris, a new solar reflective roofing shingle that helps reduce energy costs while boosting a home’s curb appeal with vibrant, rich colors.

Unveiled at the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo in Boston in November, Landmark Solaris shingles feature roofing granules that reflect solar energy and radiate heat far better than traditional asphalt roofing shingles. During the summer months, Landmark Solaris can reduce the temperature of a roof, thereby reducing energy usage and utility bills while maintaining the beautiful aesthetic appeal of traditional shingles.

Coupled with CertainTeed’s wide range of fiberglass insulation products and insulated vinyl siding, Landmark Solaris offers yet another way to maximize the energy efficiency of homes and buildings.

Landmark Solaris shingles are rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council (CCRC), meet California’s Title 24 requirements for cool steep roofing, and may qualify for credits through the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED(R)), ENERGY STAR(R) and the National Association of Home Builders’ Green Building (NAHB) Program.  In addition, Landmark Solaris shingles feature a Class A fire resistance rating and are certified to meet ASTM D3462 and ASTM D3018 Type 1. The product is currently available in the Western Region of the United States and is eligible for rebates through local utility companies in select areas.
