Atlas Pristine Shingles Featuring Scotchgard Protector from 3M Eliminates Stains

July 20, 2011
Atlas Roofing Corporation announces Pristine Shingles featuring Scotchgard Protector from 3M. Pristine Shingles, the elite lifetime shingle line manufactured by Atlas includes Pinnacle, StormMaster Slate, and StormMaster Shake.

ATLANTA, Ga. - Atlas Roofing Corporation announces Pristine Shingles featuring Scotchgard Protector from 3M. Pristine Shingles, the elite lifetime shingle line manufactured by Atlas includes Pinnacle, StormMaster Slate, and StormMaster Shake. By featuring Scotchgard Protector, Atlas now eliminates stains caused by algae and extends the Lifetime Limited Warranty to include algae damages.

Pristine Shingles featuring Scotchgard Protector eliminate black stains and streaks caused by algae on roofing installed in high humidity areas. Since algae spores are airborne, nearly 80 percent of all homes in the U.S. experience moderate to severe algae growth on their roof, causing aesthetic issues which are difficult to control.

“The Scotchgard Algae Resistant Roofing System is the single most effective algae solution available,” said Tim Worms, National Accounts and Marketing Manager at the 3M Industrial Mineral Products Division.

Copper prevents algae growth, so 3M developed the copper granule to bring the protection copper provides to the roofing surface. Atlas Roofing Corporation employs a sophisticated quality control process to ensure the 3M copper granule is used in a precise 10 percent blend rate in each of their Pristine Shingles. A third party laboratory verifies the constant, uniform granule distribution daily throughout the manufacture of the Pristine Shingles.

Atlas Pristine Shingles come with a limited lifetime warranty for all colors and styles. By featuring Scotchgard Protector, Atlas now guarantees the shingle’s lifetime appearance as well as its structural integrity. Atlas Roofing Pristine Shingles Lifetime Limited Warranty is transferrable and contains certain system and coverage requirements.

“Combining with the positive equity in the Atlas brand, Scotchgard Protector is the homeowners’ assurance that the beauty of their roofs will be oblivious to the airborne algae that discolor shingles and increase maintenance costs,” said Kirk Villar, Vice-President of Residential Sales and Marketing.
