MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. – Through sessions offered by Kalzip Inc., design professionals throughout North American have been learning more about the capabilities of metal and ways in which it can help fill design needs and boost business opportunities.

The AIA-accredited sessions help attendees understand the correct application of high performance standing seam roofing products and systems and answer the most common questions about designing with metal. Topics include types of metals, standards and innovations that have an impact on the technical, service and aesthetic performance of the roofing system. The sessions enable attendees to make more informed decisions about roofing specifications, performance criteria, and sustainable construction

According to Rodger A. Russ, Product Manager Americas for Kalzip, presenter of many of the programs, architects gain new creative insight from each session. “We encourage open discussion and realize how impressed architects are at the ways in which metal can be fabricated or formed to cover the unique geometries we show in our presentation. They are also amazed at the many aspects of on-site rollforming and the ability to produce panel lengths of more than 150 feet. With the information from each lunch-and-learn session, and the long service life of aluminum and its malleable properties, architects are empowered to be more creative with the use of aluminum or other malleable metals in their new projects.”

The sessions also address future design opportunities offered by Kalzip’s state-of-the-art technology and an overview of component design that covers technical detailing, product application and construction techniques. Each one-hour session offers 1 learning unit for AIA-registered architects, specifiers and design professionals

These time saving lunch-and-learn sessions are held all over the country. To schedule a presentation, contact Jennifer Scott at (219) 879-2793 or atjennifer.scott@kalzip.com.

In addition to these programs, Kalzip representatives will be available to answer questions at the Kalzip exhibit, booth 945, at the AIA 2011 National Convention and Design Exposition, May 12–14, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans.
