January 29, 2024

20240110_John_Zeman_0007_crop.jpgAcentech announced that John Zeman, LEED AP, BD+C has joined the firm to lead its Los Angeles office. A world-class consultancy in architectural acoustics, noise and vibration control, and audio-visual and technology systems design, Acentech is one of the largest acoustics consulting practices in the United States, with an established presence in the California design and construction industry for over 30 years. Zeman brings a 20-year career in architectural acoustics, environmental and entertainment noise, and MEP noise and vibration control consulting experience in California and the Southwest. Zeman will lead the day-to-day operations of Acentech’s California office, responsible for project leadership, client development, and quality assurance. He will lead strategic growth initiatives across the region to foster new relationships in the AECO industry.

Zeman’s multi-dimensional background in both building acoustics practice and project management make him an exceptional acoustician to serve in this Principal role. His diverse history with a broad range of markets, including aviation, large-scale corporate commercial developments, music and film production studios, and entertainment/hospitality is well suited to Acentech’s national strategy to expand its market share. His expertise bolsters Acentech’s Principal leadership and technical capabilities, collaborating with the firm’s noise and vibration, audio-visual, and technology (telecommunications and security) consulting groups.

“John’s experience advances our strategic client development efforts while expanding Acentech’s presence in California and throughout the Southwest,” said Acentech’s President Benjamin Markham, FASA. “We are excited to have him on our team to drive our growth and deliver excellent service to our clients in this region.”

Zeman earned his Master of Science (with Distinction) in Environmental and Architectural Acoustics from London South Bank University. He studied physics and calculus at Arizona State University and received his Bachelor of Arts (with Honors) in Sonic Arts from Middlesex University in London, UK. He is a LEED Accredited Professional for Building Design and Construction, and is a member of several professional industry organizations including the Acoustical Society of America (ASA), American Institute of Architects, Los Angeles Chapter, (AIA LA), the UK’s Institute of Acoustics (IOA), the National Council of Acoustical Consultants (NCAC) and the Institute of Noise Control Engineers, (INCE).
