Henry Company, a leader in Building Envelope Systems, announced the introduction of the Henry Blueskin PreSeal System – a pre-applied waterproofing system that incorporates a proprietary dual bond technology, providing a mechanical and chemical bond for improved adhesion to concrete. The fully and permanently bonded waterproofing system for zero-property line foundation applications reduces or eliminates lateral water migration as well as migration through the membrane.
The Blueskin PreSeal System consists of a polypropylene membrane laminated to a chemically enhanced non-woven geotextile fleece with a dimpled surface. The membrane contains an adhesive and provides a mechanical attachment into wet concrete to form a permanent barrier seal. It easily installs with “kick-out” rolls, self-adhering laps and splices without the need for special tools or torches. Additionally, it is highly resistant to harmful substances in soil and groundwater, as well as water vapor and radon gas. The Blueskin PreSeal membrane offers better performance than HDPE systems for excellent low temperature flexibility and crack bridging.
“As the only passive pre-applied waterproofing system available in North America with dual bond technology, the new Henry Blueskin PreSeal System represents the latest product milestone in our 50-year legacy of waterproofing expertise,” said Christian Nolte, senior vice president, Marketing & Product Management, Henry Company. “The addition of Blueskin PreSeal allows Henry Company to offer a complete portfolio of pre-applied and post-applied foundation waterproofing systems that are compatible with Henry plaza deck and green roofing systems, air barrier systems and roofing systems, providing customers access to a one-stop solution for complete commercial Building Envelope Systems.”
The Blueskin PreSeal membrane is available in wide roll widths, leading to fewer seams which further reduces the risk of water ingress. The wider rolls also are lightweight, contributing to improved labor performance and installation speed.
Henry Company worked in close partnership with Max Frank – a German-based company with more than half century of waterproofing experience – to bring the Blueskin PreSeal System to the U.S. For more information about the Henry Blueskin PreSeal System, visit www.henry.com/preseal,
