CertainTeed Showcases Interiors Products at INTEX 2019

Breaking News
April 25, 2019

CertainTeed, a leading North American brand of building materials, will once again be exhibiting at the INTEX Expo as a Gold Sponsor, highlighting its drywall, insulation and ceilings products. INTEX Expo 2019, April 25-26 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, MD, is the largest trade show specifically catering to the walls and ceilings industry, showcasing the latest and greatest products, services and solutions to help the industry thrive.

At this year’s show, CertainTeed will bring together product solutions incorporating its drywall, insulation and ceiling products, illustrating their systemic nature and how CertainTeed products work together to provide high-performing building solutions. Most recently, CertainTeed has expanded its presence in the high-growth architectural specialties ceilings market with the acquisition of Norton Industries’ wood ceilings business. The investment has strengthened CertainTeed’s existing wood ceilings portfolio with products that complement the custom wood designs from Decoustics. Together, Norton and Decoustics make for one of the industry’s strongest wood ceiling offerings. And with the acquisition of Hunter Douglas Ceilings & Walls in 2018, CertainTeed is positioned as one of the industry’s most comprehensive ceilings manufacturers. Attendees are invited to visit CertainTeed at booth #537 to see product demonstrations and learn more.

In addition to the comprehensive trade show, two leading industry trade associations, the Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry and the Ceilings & Interior Systems Construction Association, hold their annual conventions in conjunction with the INTEX Expo. The conventions bring people together from across the industry for a variety of in-depth education sessions and stellar networking receptions. The INTEX Expo is managed by the Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry and co-sponsored by the Ceilings & Interior Systems Construction Association.

“This is an exciting time for CertainTeed, and we’re looking forward to showcasing our expanded suite of high-impact interiors products at this year’s INTEX Expo” said Matt Gibson, vice president, corporate marketing.  “Throughout our interiors offering, there are high-performing products and systems designed both for ease and speed of installation, and end-user comfort and aesthetics. This is a great opportunity for customers to get a first-hand look.”

The INTEX Expo represents all market segments, which include drywall, ceilings and acoustics, lath and metal framing, plaster, EIFS, insulation, software and much more. CertainTeed will be showcasing and discussing these featured products:

EasyTouch Encapsulated Unfaced Insulation – Comfort-coated with perforated plastic film for a cleaner, easier installation, EasyTouch can be used in either residential or commercial construction as thermal and acoustical insulation. Ideal for attics, walls, floors, above commercial ceiling grids, and anywhere a Class A fire rating is needed. It is available with or without an attached kraft vapor barrier and is designed for use in standard wood and metal stud assemblies. Compression packaged for ease of handling, its range of R-Values and sizes ensures the right product for the job.

Unfaced Sustainable Insulation with MemBrain Continuous Air Barrier & Smart Vapor Retarder – Sustainable Insulation is made of fiberglass that consists of rapidly renewable content, a high percentage of recycled glass, and a plant-based binder that contains no added formaldehyde, harsh acrylics, dyes or unnecessary fire retardants.  Providing long-lasting comfort through thermal, acoustical and air quality performance, Sustainable Insulation also minimizes environmental impacts and improves energy savings. MemBrain Continuous Air Barrier & Smart Vapor Retarder is the industry's most advanced technology to create a better performing home. This patented, revolutionary solution can sense and adapt its permeance to varying humidity levels, helping wall cavities stay dry year round. When installed with standard tape and sealing practices, MemBrain provides a continuous indoor air barrier, creating a better performing building envelope.

QuickSpan Locking Drywall Grid System and QuickSpan Support Clip – The Quickspan Locking Drywall Grid System from CertainTeed is a go-to for industry professionals looking to save time and money on the jobsite. Convenient pre-measured tabs make layout a breeze, while cross tees easily lock into channels without the need for screws. An audible click lets installers know when a cross tee is locked in place. In addition, heavy-duty material provides maximum rigidity without the fear of deflection or rolling. The QuickSpan Support Clip enables longer ceilings spans, allowing for wider spanning tee spacing at 24 inches on center, and provides easier connection at walls utilizing the patented QuickSpan locking channel. A hammered edge also protects installers hands from sharp metal edges while embossed grooves make for easy snapping placement.

HeartFelt Linear Ceilings & Walls – Bringing the pleasure of proven polyester felt to the ceiling plane, patented HeartFelt linear ceiling panels join crisp linearity with unexpected softness and texture. The felt ceiling material warms both the visual and acoustical experiences of a space. Made of fade-resistant material, HeartFelt panels are 100 percent recyclable, Class A fire-rated, and require no special maintenance.

Techstyle Ceilings & Walls – These ultra-light, next-gen panels can be used to create custom ceiling designs with color, texture, graphic patterns and wood looks. Featuring an ultra-flat, honeycomb core, Techstyle panels offer more than just good looks, delivering superior acoustical performance across a broad spectrum of sizes, shapes, and materials.

Ecophon SoloBaffles – At the nexus of creative freedom and acoustic control is Ecophon Solo Baffles, offering creative solutions for the most intriguing open spaces. These vertically-installed, unframed baffles provide superior sound absorption while delivering a wide-range of design flexibility. Ecophon Solo Baffles are availab le in sixteen colors, numerous sizes, and come in standard rectangular shapes as well as zigzags and waves.

AirRenew M2Tech Indoor Air Quality Gypsum Board – is for use in interior walls and ceilings and is specially designed to offer a healthier living and working environment by improving indoor air quality. AirRenew takes formaldehyde out of the air and converts it into a safe inert compound. Once captured in the board, they cannot be released back into the air. M2Tech technology also improves indoor air quality by providing enhanced moisture and mold resistance.

Diamondback GlasRoc Tile Backer – Diamondback Tile Backer is a superior tile substrate for walls and ceilings, especially designed by CertainTeed to meet the demands of high-moisture areas. Diamondback 1/4" Tile Backer (6.4 mm) is suitable for use as an underlayment for tile countertops and floor applications. With an innovative, built-in moisture-blocking coating that resists moisture at the surface, Diamondback Tile Backer protects tile installations and wall cavities from moisture intrusion and excessive vapor transfer, thereby eliminating the need for a separate moisture barrier.

NO-COAT – The NO-COAT Structural Laminate (SLAM) design represents a revolutionary drywall corner system that provides superior strength and durability, installs faster, and delivers bottom line savings in labor.  Installers can save additional time by using the innovative NO-COAT PRO Automated Corner machine - its lightweight portability makes it easy to move on the job site. Not only is it the first and only automated system for custom-cutting corners of any length or angle, but when both products are paired together, it’s simply the fastest and most efficient cornering system available.

SilentFX QuickCut – SilentFX QuickCut allows building professionals to achieve acoustical control through a much less complicated installation process. SilentFX is a proven acoustic drywall solution to help provide this desired sound control in a variety of settings. Now with the easy to score and snap feature of QuickCut technology, building professionals can meet strict acoustic building code requirements, increase productivity, lower labor costs and reduce callbacks. Specifically designed for residential and commercial construction projects requiring a high sound transmission class (STC) rating of 50 and higher, SilentFX QuickCut can be used for interior walls and ceilings in new construction or renovations over wood or steel framing.
