CertainTeed, a leading North American manufacturer of building materials, will be engaging building professionals at the 2018 RCI International Trade Show with a display of high-quality, low-slope asphalt systems, which are efficient to install across multiple application methods, as well as selections of premium steep-slope products, ideal for light-commercial use.

The show will take place March 24-25 in Hall A of the George R. Brown Convention Center (1001 Avenida de las Americas, Houston, Texas 77010), during the 33rd International RCI Convention and Trade Show. Attendees are encouraged to stop by Booth 700 to meet with CertainTeed representatives and get a first-hand look at the best the company has to offer to roofing professionals.

“The products at this year’s show exemplify CertainTeed’s strong commitment to addressing the important issues around balancing long-term waterproofing protection and a short-term way to address the waning labor pool,” said Abby Feinstein, commercial roofing product manager for CertainTeed Roofing. “This year’s showcase also illustrates our commitment to science and innovation, from self-adhering roofing products that can be installed in frigid temperatures to fully recyclable, fire-and-impact-resistant architectural metal roofing systems.”

Flintlastic Showcase Systems on Display
CertainTeed offers a complete line of low-slope, asphalt-based roof products and accessories, including BUR, SBS and APP options. To add efficiencies to the contractor’s workflow, CertainTeed has created a series of recommended commercial roofing systems that are designed to meet popular application, code approval and warranty needs; including three Showcase Systems that provide the best product and performance features across a range of warranty durations:

  • Flintlastic SA MidPly and Flintlastic SA Cap (self-adhered base and cap) offer the fastest installation time (observed to be faster than many single-ply installations), lowest laborer skill requirement, and is the cleanest, safest and healthiest application option.
  • Flintlastic Ultra Glass SA (self-adhered base) and Flintlastic GTA-FR (torch-applied cap) is comparable in application speed to the fully adhered systems, and can actually be installed with less time if a multi-torch wagon is utilized.
  • Flintlastic Ultra Poly SMS and Flintlastic Premium FR-P (base and cap applied with cold adhesive or hot asphalt) offer tried-and true, premium multi-layer protection, with a combined thickness of 311 mils and two layers of flexible, resilient SBS-modified asphalt on a polyester-reinforced mat. For building owners that truly value peace of mind—this is your roof.

Attendees are also encouraged to speak to CertainTeed personnel about the new Flintlastic SA Cold-Weather Application method. This method permits installation of the Flintlastic SA Cap and Flintlastic SA Cap FR (fire rated) cap sheets in temperatures below 40°F with the use of a hot air welder which allows contractors to work quickly through the winter months without fear of plunging temperatures.

Matterhorn Metal Roofing for light commercial applications

Among the most durable and energy-efficient roofing options available today, Matterhorn Metal Roofing replicates the architecture and charm of traditional wood shake, slate and barrel tile roofing, while providing superior wind, fire and impact resistance. Matterhorn is 100-percent recyclable, and offers 14 solar-reflecting color options that can be used to comply with 2016 California Title 24, Part 6, cool roof requirements. Matterhorn’s cool roof colors reflect more of the sun’s rays than traditional roofing, lowering roof surface temperatures by 50-70°F, significantly reducing air-conditioning needs and improving indoor comfort.

Belmont luxury roofing for steep-slope applications
Belmont asphalt shingles blend the depth and natural beauty of slate with the state-of-the-art performance characteristics of luxury asphalt roofing. Laminated construction gives Belmont shingles depth and dimensionality, perfect for churches, municipal buildings, and stand-alone businesses. Belmont roofing comes in six colors with normal and Class IV impact resistance-rated versions, is wind and fire-resistant, and is protected by StreakFighter algae-resistant technology, making it virtually maintenance-free.
