The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) will support the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) this spring to bring awareness to National Roofing Week. The observance takes place June 5 − 11, 2016, and aims to promote the significant role that roofing plays in every community.

Roofing systems keep our homes, schools and businesses safe, and protect them from the elements. They are a critical component of any building, and yet can often be overlooked until a leak or other damage occurs. National Roofing Week is cause to celebrate the roofs that protect us every day, but also to recognize the importance of aspects like proper maintenance and worker safety. This week-long observance also emphasizes the importance of hiring professional roofing contractors and making informed decisions about maintaining or replacing any roof system.

“National Roofing Week provides the industry with a unique opportunity to come together and recognize the many contributions of roofing manufacturers, installers and the industry as a whole,” said Reed Hitchcock, executive vice president of ARMA. “Our goal is to promote a national conversation with both the industry and property owners about the importance of roofing systems and their proper maintenance.”

Throughout National Roofing Week, NRCA, ARMA and other allied organizations will engage homeowners and the roofing community to celebrate roofing and encourage conversations about it, particularly on social media. The social media campaign will use the hashtag #nationalroofingweek to promote topics like roofing products and systems, worker safety and charitable projects. ARMA encourages member companies, roofers and homeowners alike to share photos of their asphalt roofs and post about what makes them beautiful, affordable and reliable. Homeowners and roofing professionals can share pictures of themselves in front of their asphalt roofs or photos with their roofing contractors on ARMA’s LinkedIn page or by using #nationalroofingweek on Twitter.

“National Roofing Week is a time for the entire roofing industry to increase the public’s awareness of the importance of every roof, as well as the valuable role professional roofing contractors play in their communities,” said William Good, chief executive officer for NRCA. “NRCA is proud to have the members of ARMA as a partner in recognizing National Roofing Week.”
