NEWTON, Mass. — Attendees at this year’s METALCON International will be pleasantly surprised by the growing variety of exhibitors.

METALCON, scheduled for Oct.1-3 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, annually attracts thousands of attendees looking to learn more about metal: contractors, architects, specifiers, roofers, designers, developers and suppliers from more than 50 countries. One of the reasons for the show’s popularity is the variety of exhibitors, offering everything from brakes and benders to wall panels and windows.

“The show floor has more diversity than in recent years,” said Paulo Gomes da Costa, sales manager of METALCON. “The show is changing. There will be some exhibitors at the show with products never seen before at METALCON, and that’s a good thing. [As of mid-July] we’ve got 48 new exhibitors, and they all do something different.”

Gomes da Costa said there are more roll forming companies, including Metis Machines and Xiamen Liming Machinery Co. Ltd., as well as business software companies like CompuPlus Corporation and CAD Methods Ltd. Other categories with a growing number of exhibitors are tools, underlayments and business management companies offering to help small and medium-size business owners handle payroll and other office needs.

“The growing variety of exhibitors is a direct result of our attendees,” said Claire Kilcoyne, METALCON show producer. “We attract contractors who run large operations building multi-story commercial and institutional buildings as well as contractors who have one or two crews, installing residential metal roofing. Architects are on the trade show floor searching for innovative, durable and sustainable products, and metal has plenty to offer. Exhibitors and potential exhibitors recognize that their customers are attending METALCON, so the number of exhibitors as well as the variety of exhibitors continues to grow.”
