KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. — Arkema Inc. had announced the addition of Scott Schwartz as general manager, Americas and Jason Lyons, Ph.D., as R&D manager, Acrylic Additives to its Acrylic Modifiers Team.

Scott Schwartz began his career with Arkema 28 years ago as an engineer in the plastics additives business and has continued his success in a broad range of business leadership, strategic planning, marketing, sales and finance roles throughout the company.

Lyons has been working with polymer modification for more than a decade and brings his experience in innovative research to an experienced technical service group. Lyons’ focus is to work closely with customers to help them achieve their product development goals. He will also coordinate efforts with industry organizations to assure the long-term sustainability of the plastics industry.

In recent months, there has been significant repositioning by major plastic additive suppliers based in part on a series of industry acquisitions and announced divestitures. Arkema has been focused on strengthening its position with new product developments and key staff additions to reinforce its ability to service customers’ needs going forward.

“Arkema is committed to developing new, innovative grades of our family of plastic additives, such as our Durastrength, Biostrength and Clearstrength impact modifiers, and our Plastistrength and Biostrength process aids, while we continue to meet the needs of our customers with our current product lines,” Schwartz said. "We are an integrated acrylic additives supplier and have the reputation as an applications expert among our key customers because of our technical group’s years of devotion to the industries we serve.”
