NFRC Accredits Architectural Testing to Perform NFRC 202
FRESNO, Calif. — Architectural Testing, Inc. (ATI) has becomes the first NFRC-accredited laboratory to perform NFRC 202: a procedure for determining translucent fenestration product Visible Transmittance (VT) at normal incidence.
Approved by the NFRC membership in 2012, NFRC 202 provides manufacturers of flat, diffusing products the ability to obtain a VT rating on the whole product. Before NFRC 202 existed, manufactures of translucent panels were not able to test for VT via simulation or through the use of a spectrophotometer. With NFRC’s adoption of NFRC 202 and the announcement of ATI as the first and currently only laboratory accredited to perform this type of testing, manufacturers now have a solution for measuring visible transmittance at normal incidence of their translucent panel products.
