Kemper System Canada Inc. will feature Wall Guardian FW-100A, one of the most cost-effective liquid-applied air barriers available, as well as an expanded family of construction sealants, including GreatSeal PE-150, at Construct Canada, Nov. 29 to Dec. 1 in Toronto, booth #1101.

Wall Guardian FW-100A fibered acrylic air barrier also acts as a water/weather barrier,  and vapor retarder to prevent the moisture build-up that can lead to mildew and mold. “Wall Guardian delivers superior performance and can also be a cost-saving alternative to self-adhered sheet membranes which typically require larger crews,” said Richard Doornink, President and Managing Director of Kemper System America Inc.

The fibered coating can be applied by heavy-duty sprayer, roller or brush when temperatures are 5oC (40oF) and rising. Wall Guardian FW-100A meets IECC 2015 standards, and exceeds ASTM E2357 (Standard Test Method for Determining Air Leakage of Air Barrier Assemblies) by a factor of 100. Air leakage rate is < 0.0022 L/(s • m2) @ 75 Pa [0.0004 cfm /ft2 @ 1.57 psf] at 40 wet mils.

GreatSeal Multi-Purpose Sealant
Foremost among Kemper System’s family of commercial-grade sealants is the multi-purpose GreatSeal PE-150 interior/exterior construction sealant. It can be applied in cold weather, and unlike most other sealants, even on damp surfaces. GreatSeal PE-150 offers a service range of 93oC to minus 40oC (200oF to minus 40oF), movement capability of +/- 25%, and zero shrinkage. The high-performance sealant contains no solvents and very low VOCs.

The GreatSeal brand also includes GreatSeal LF-500 Liquid Flashing, a multi-purpose repair sealant, and GreatSeal LT-100 Liquid Tape compatible with Wall Guardian air barrier systems, all in the STS Coatings line, acquired by Kemper System in 2016.

Also at Construct Canada, Kemper System will launch Kempertec Joint Sealant which can quickly fill gaps between cover board or plywood joints and around penetrations to ready surfaces for Kempertec primer. The sealant eliminates the need for mixing and applying a primer/sand slurry mix in joints. It cures in under three hours.

Roof Guardian ‘Cool Roofs’
Another key STS product now from Kemper System is Roof Guardian liquid-applied, elastomer-based roof coatings which offer a cost-effective solution for roof recovery and other projects. The white coatings are a quick and affordable way to transform metal, BUR, modified bitumen, and aged singly-ply roofs into reflective Cool Roofs that can reduce building cooling requirements.

For over 60 years, Kemper System has been a global industry leader in cold liquid-applied, reinforced roofing and waterproofing, having invented the technology and holding the first patents. Today the company offers a full range of Building Envelope solutions to protect against weather, preserve the integrity of surfaces, and enhance the energy savings, comfort and value of buildings.

In addition to Wall Guardian fibered acrylic air barrier, Roof Guardian elastomer-based roof coatings and GreatSeal construction sealants, other high-value brands from Kemper System include COLEAN traffic coating systems, and the company flagship for exterior and interior waterproofing, Kemperol reinforced membrane systems
