ARMA Publishes Updated Shingle Installation Guide

AAMA Book
May 11, 2016

The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) has released an updated version of its technical manual Good Application Makes a Good Roof Better – A Simplified Guide. The 38-page manual outlines installation methods for laminated asphalt shingles, and is now available as both a print-on-demand book and an eBook.

The new version of this publication has been updated with the latest industry best practices to instruct the roofing professional and DIY enthusiast alike on installation methods that help to maximize shingle life and weather protection. By offering it as both a print-on-demand and eBook, ARMA is providing more options than ever.

Readers will be able to purchase and access the eBook instantly from any e-reader device including any smart phone, tablet, Kindle device from Amazon, and Nook eReader from Barnes and Noble. They can customize their reading experience by adjusting font sizes, zooming in on images and diagrams, and bookmarking key chapters. Those purchasing the print version will receive the book straight from the printer.

“A roofing contractor will be able to take this eBook to any job site and look up the latest installation guidelines for asphalt shingles directly from a phone or tablet,” said Reed Hitchcock, executive vice president of ARMA. “The asphalt roofing industry is continually evolving to utilize modern advancements; ARMA’s technical and educational services have mirrored that progress by embracing new technology.”

This application manual serves as a general guide for the installation of laminated asphalt roofing shingles. However, as each manufacturer’s roofing product has its own requirements and specifications, it is essential that the product manufacturer’s application instructions always be followed.

The new Good Application Makes a Good Roof Better – A Simplified Guide manual is available for $9.95 as a print publication and for $8.95 as an eBook. ARMA is working to convert all of its roofing publications into print-on-demand and eBook versions to better serve its customer base with the latest in technology and publishing services. ARMA offers numerous design and installation guides for both residential and commercial asphalt roofing systems.
