Tnemec Names Cory Brown Vice President, Technical Services

December 23, 2015

Tnemec Company Inc. has named Cory Brown as Vice President, Technical Services, according to Chase Bean, executive vice president. In his new position, Brown will oversee the company’s staff of product development specialists, analytical laboratory and technical service technicians.

“Cory has served an important leadership role at Tnemec, where he has directed various departmental resources related to product research and development from concept to commercialization,” Bean acknowledged. “With nearly 20 years in the coating industry, he offers expertise in employee training and management, technical writing, product development, operations, and competitive analysis.”

Brown is a certified coating inspector with NACE International, and is active in the Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC). In January, Brown will be a presenter at the SSPC conference in San Antonio, Texas, where he will discuss “Pull-off Adhesion Strength Testing of Lining Systems on Concrete,” which is based on a white paper he co-authored this year. An article based on the paper is scheduled to run in an upcoming issue of the Journal of Protective Coatings & Linings.

As a member of the company’s Senior Staff, Brown understands the critical role of technical service representatives in ensuring that contractors, engineers, architects and building owners understand product application procedures.

“At Tnemec, we have the best technical staff in the coatings industry,” Brown explained. “There isn’t a problem these men and women can’t solve. They are the value-add to Tnemec’s line of premium coatings and linings. Every product offering comes with our full support, from specification to application, and from the beginning of the coating’s life to its end.”

Prior to his current position, Brown served as Director of Technology Integration where he directed various departmental resources related to product research and development. His experience includes seven years as a senior technical service representative and five years as a production supervisor responsible for managing daily operations of three departments at Tnemec.

Throughout his career, Brown has emphasized the importance of personal relationships and customer service in every aspect of the business. “If you have good personal relationships with customers and colleagues, you are also providing great customer service,” Brown added. “I want to ensure that everyone we do business with is provided with outstanding technical service that has become a Tnemec trademark.”

Brown attended Park University in Parkville, Mo., where he studied Management and Finance and graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
