This course addresses in detail the characteristics of prefabricated EIFS panel systems and differences compared to typical field installed EIFS. Three primary prefabricated EIFS panel types are discussed including the advantages of each, as well as typical design considerations for a panelized construction approach.
Learning Objectives:
- Assess the benefits of prefabrication versus in-field application of EIFS cladding systems.
- Describe design and construction considerations when incorporating prefabricated EIFS panels into a new or renovation project.
- Recognize the three common types of prefabricated EIFS panels and be able to incorporate panel configurations effectively into building envelope designs.
- Identify the performance, constructability and durability characteristics of prefabricated exterior wall panels using EIFS cladding.
