Interior and Exterior Metal Wall Panels Take Off at Airport
Williston, N.D., has a history deeply rooted in the railroad and agriculture industries. Now a surge of oil-related jobs in the area is bringing about a population boom. Williston Basin International Airport was built in 2019 to meet current and future needs of the region. The terminal building was designed to be people-orientated while being reflective of the Williston Basin. Dri-Design Wall Panels were chosen for the interior and exterior to create a cohesive and welcoming design.
“We were asked to create a modern terminal building design that is rooted in the Williston Basin sense of place, with a focus on providing hospitality-oriented design and amenities for the traveling public,” says Stefan Balaz, AIA, LEED AP, associate with Alliiance, the architectural firm in Minneapolis. “Metal panels provide the long-term durability and low maintenance required by this building type. Bringing the metal to the interior was important for the overall expression of the architectural concept.”
