Zinc Encloses Entire Building Envelope for a More Sustainable Grand Center
IWR Building Systems, a specialty contractor based in St. Louis, has completed installation of rolled-zinc wall cladding at the University of Missouri-St. Louis Grand Center building located at 3651 Olive St. The distinctive, gray ANTHRA-ZINC® material covers the entire building envelope of the 27,000-square-foot facility. With a 100-year service life, the zinc enclosure is likely to outlast the life cycle of the building itself.
“We are continually mindful of our environmental and economic impact during the selection of our products,” IWR General Manger Keith Myers said. “With sustainability in mind, this project is a good example of environmental stewardship made possible by our thoughtful team of professionals and suppliers involved at the local level and assisting us globally.”
