2012 GreenGov Symposium to Take Place in Washington, D.C.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) announced that its third annual GreenGov Symposium will be held in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 24-26, 2012, at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel. The Symposium will bring together leaders from government, the private sector, non-profits and academia to identify opportunities to create jobs, grow clean energy industries, and curb pollution by incorporating sustainable practices into the Federal Government’s operations. This year’s event will be co-sponsored by CEQ and the Association of Climate Change Officers (ACCO).
“With its significant purchasing power and building and fleet inventory, the Federal Government can make a real difference with its own operations to lead in building a strong and sustainable clean energy economy,” said Nancy Sutley, Chair of the Council on Environmental Quality. “The 2012 GreenGov Symposium will harness the innovation and expertise of decision makers both inside and outside of the Federal Government to help agencies deliver on President Obama’s commitment to reduce waste, pollution and costs in federal operations.”
