Kemper System America Inc. will feature two new liquid-applied reflective roofing systems—Offering among the highest solar reflectance ratings in the industry—at the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Convention in Philadelphia, May 19-21.

Kemperol Reflect 2K FR system—Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) 110—is odor-free, and the new Kemperol AC Speed FR system (SRI 108) is a fast-curing PMMA. Both exceed LEED solar reflectance requirements and achieve a Class A fire rating.

Both are cold liquid-applied fully reinforced membrane systems that dry to a bright-white surface.

Demonstrations are scheduled at the Kemper System booth #3951 as follows: 11 a.m., 1 P.M. and 3 p.m. May 19th and 20th, and at noon on May 21st.

“Specifiers trust Kemper System for high-performance membrane waterproofing solutions, and like the fact that our systems can address so multiple issues,” says President and Managing Director Richard Doornink.

The low VOC resin membrane system consists of 70 percent rapidly renewable resources and is fire rated for Class-A assemblies.

Supporting Sustainable Design
The new Cool Roof systems exceed requirements for LEED credits under the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification program. The bright white surface also reduces the Urban Heat Island effect, where heat radiating from buildings and asphalt raises the local temperature.

Performance
Introduced in North America in 2015, Kemperol Reflect 2K FR offers the same advantages as the company’s best-selling Kemperol 2K-PUR membrane system, popular for Green Roofs and Blue Roofs. The new reflective roofing system does not require topcoats, reducing labor costs and installation time.

Both systems are fully reinforced membranes that can stand up to harsh conditions including: sun, wind, rain, ponding water, snow and ice. Both fully adhere to substrates, and are self-flashing and self-terminating. They can monolithically seal roof perimeters, multiple penetrations and virtually any architectural detail.
