CARLISLE, Pa. — Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM), a division of Carlisle Companies, has announced plans to establish a TPO membrane manufacturing operation at its Carlisle, Pa. campus. The newest and most technologically advanced manufacturing equipment will allow this new line to manufacture a variety of sizes and thicknesses of Carlisle’s TPO roofing membranes. The Carlisle, Pa. operation, scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2014, will be CCM’s fifth TPO manufacturing line, and is expected to increase Carlisle’s TPO manufacturing capacity by approximately 25 percent per year. In addition, the new line will create an estimated 30 new jobs in 2014, with potential for additional jobs in years to come.

“Carlisle’s 50-plus years of single-ply membrane manufacturing experience and expertise will be invaluable in getting its newest TPO line up and running,” said Nick Shears, vice president of sales and marketing for Carlisle Construction Materials. “The Carlisle, Pa. TPO line will offer enhanced service and increased product availability, particularly to customers in the eastern United States. The tremendous growth of the TPO market is not a passing trend, and the construction of a fifth TPO line demonstrates Carlisle’s intention to remain the TPO industry leader.”

Carlisle’s TPO membranes offer a state-of-the-art weathering package, and its tan and white membranes are ENERGY STAR® rated and LEED™ certified. In addition, the high reflectivity of Carlisle’s TPO can help to reduce cooling costs in warm, southern climates. TPO also offers outstanding puncture resistance and is recyclable at the end of the roof’s service life.
