ORLANDO, Fla. — The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress announced the winners of its 12th annual Most Valuable Player (MVP) Awards at the National Roofing Contractors Association’s 125th Annual Convention, which was held Feb. 20-24 in Orlando, Fla. Following are the 2012 MVP Award winners:

• David Baytosh, superintendent for Advanced Roofing Inc., Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
• Luke King, superintendent for D.C. Taylor Co., Cedar Rapids, Iowa
• Tom Melton, foreman for Consolidated Enterprises Inc., Anchorage, Alaska
• Hector Molina, superintendent for KPost Company, Dallas
• Louis Tkacz, superintendent and safety director for Advanced Roofing Inc., Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

The 2012 MVP Award finalists were:

• Ward Billings, superintendent for Frye Roofing Inc., Bluefield, W. Va.
• Tom Melton, foreman for Consolidated Enterprises Inc., Anchorage, Alaska
• David Miller, superintendent for Heritage Roofing Inc., Shady Grove, Pa.
• Anthony Myers, foreman for Heritage Roofing Inc., Shady Grove, Pa.

The MVP Awards program recognizes and honors outstanding roofing workers from various U.S. regions. Winners are chosen based on their significant contributions to one or more of the following areas: outstanding on-the-job performance; on-the-job safety performance; contributions to a team effort; community service and volunteerism; and other noteworthy contributions and activities.
